To meet someone new in a therapy room is not an easy decision, and often comes with a bit of uncertainty. However, here you are – whatever the reason that brought you to counseling – and I’m grateful to meet you. I hope to accompany you in your counselling journey as we explore together what moves you emotionally and physically in your life. My goal is to foster and maintain a safe space where you feel heard and valued. I envision therapy like a road trip, you are in the driver’s seat and have full control of the car, meanwhile, as your counselor, I point out road signs we could explore. Ultimately it is your decision on which signs we choose to stop at. I believe in upholding the client’s autonomy throughout the therapeutic process, since you are the expert on your life and therefore innately hold all the answers.
I am graduating with a master’s degree in counselling psychology from Trinity Western University in Fall 2024. I have been involved in the mental health field for nearly ten years, where I have had the privilege of working with children, youth, adults, and couples in various settings. My areas of expertise include depression, anxiety, trauma, suicidality, eating disorders, relationship conflict, and grief and loss. I use a variety of therapeutic modalities including emotion-focused therapy, mindfulness, dialectical behavior therapy, and solution-focused therapy. I use a person-centered and holistic approach, so I will consult with you to tailor my approach to your needs and preferences. As a new counsellor, I am committed to participating in ongoing professional development to ensure that I am providing the best quality of care to all I am fortunate to work with.
Beyond the therapeutic space, I am a partner, daughter, sister, aunt, and dog mom. Outside of the counselling room, you can find me curled up with a good book, enjoying reality TV, in the kitchen baking another batch of cookies, walking, or hiking a new trail.
