Jade Piper

MSW, RSW

My approach to therapy is rooted in deep compassion, true genuineness, and non-judgemental honest, curiosity. I place the utmost importance on the relational aspect of this work, as the quality of the relationship between client and therapist is the greatest predictor of long-term sustainable change. Therefore, my commitment is to co-create a collaborative space with individuals, where they can feel safe to be seen and heard. My approach is informed by my own experiences of being a client in therapy, as much as it is by my education and training. I am continuously grateful to do this work and count it as one of my life’s greatest privileges.

I hold a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Windsor and have worked in community mental health settings with diverse populations for several years. I believe in a holistic integrative approach to therapy; one that is tailored to meet the individual’s unique needs. I draw from a variety of therapeutic modalities, such as Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Solution- focused therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, feminist therapy, along with self-compassion, and mindfulness practices. I have specialized clinical training in the treatment of eating disorders and am passionate about supporting those experiencing all types of disordered eating and body dissatisfaction challenges. I have expertise in the areas of substance use and addiction, mood disorders, life transitions, relationship challenges, grief and loss and self-discovery. I also have particular interest in the areas of maternal mental health and religious/faith deconstruction.

Some of my hobbies and passions include playing guitar, singing and song writing, attending concerts/shows whenever I can, being outside connecting with nature, and practicing ashtanga yoga. I am committed to my own healing journey as well. I am a new mother to my beautiful daughter, Raine.

I am a Registered Social Worker that adheres to a code of ethics and am committed to ongoing professional development that includes participating in continuous learning and supervision.
