KRISTIN WARD

MA, RCC

As a Registered Clinical Counsellor, it is my hope to help guide others through their journey to find the courage and acceptance to face and overcome whatever challenges life has brought them.

Reaching out for help takes so much courage and I would be honored to be the one that can help you find your best self. I enjoy working collaboratively with clients – together we will improve insight, develop interpersonal skills, improve coping skills, and navigate barriers to change using a strengths-based approach.

I have had the opportunity to work with adults, children and families for the last 12 years with a variety of struggles; including, but not limited to: trauma/PTSD, suicidality, Borderline Personality Disorder, anxiety, depression, ADHD/Autism, OCD, and family therapy. I am an avid learner, I am continually engaging in ongoing professional development to ensure I am providing the best therapy for my clients.

Although I was born and raised in Abbotsford, I was lucky enough to travel to England to complete my Masters Degree in Counselling at the University of Derby. I have worked within the health authorities and community sectors as a clinical counsellor to support children, families, and adults. My approach to therapy is client-centered and trauma-informed. I draw from a variety of modalities, including Emotion-Focused Family Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectic Behavioural Therapy, and Internal Family Systems Therapy.

In my personal life, I adore spending time with my 3 kids, husband and dog. I find being in nature, having gut-wrenching laughter, and engaging in regular yoga practice to be the best forms of self-care for myself.
