Shanda Collins
MSW, RCC
My approach is eclectic in nature and rooted in the intention that the counseling process is co-creation of a sacred space where you feel safe to share as you are. Together, we draw from your own unique expertise as the expert of your life. I honor that you have your own experiences, worldviews, knowledge that influence how you cope with change and transition. However, at times in counseling, a new awareness that is more helpful and validating to your true self is waiting to be birthed. I firmly believe our stories are not fixed and can be rewritten at any time as we edit and process our thoughts, feelings, and experiences that may manifest as anxiety, depression, trauma, and grief common in unhelpful narratives.
My passion is to work with adults navigating life transitions, and/or or dealing with trauma, anxiety and depression. I carry with me as a therapist knowledge and training rooted in DBT, CBT, EFFT, and mindfulness. I also am dedicated to embedding my practice with cultural humility and safety.
Outside of the therapy room, I am a navigating middle life as a women and mom. I enjoy traveling, nature, sports, and music. I also am an avid knowledge seeker.
