Shelley Putman

M. Ed, RCC

I believe that within each of us lies the ability to navigate life’s challenges. As a counsellor, I see myself as a partner in your journey here, offering support and compassion. My goal is to provide you a safe, nonjudgmental space to express yourself freely, to help you recognize your strengths, embrace your best qualities and build resilience. I’m here to support you as you uncover the answers within yourself, empowering you to become your greatest ally.

I have my RCC and have worked within the education system for 16 years, complemented by my work at the Chilliwack Youth Health Centre, providing individual and group counselling. I have a deep appreciation for human resilience. My therapeutic practice is informed by a diverse range of modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, person-centred therapy, and solution-focused approaches. I am dedicated to continually learning and growing professionally and personally to ensure that I offer my clients the most effective support. I work with clients who are struggling with anxiety, depression, and grief with a keen interest in pet grief.

In my free time, I enjoy getting outside, indulging in a good book, spending quality time with friends and family, and exploring new places through travel. These activities keep me grounded and connected, allowing me to be fully present with my clients.
